1. The parents who take pictures of their student standing at the front of the room, their prepared presentation proudly on display behind them.
  2. The “we don’t care about the grade, we care about your learning” comment from parents, falling on the shocked ears of the student, who may be hearing this for the first time, previously under the impression that they had to be perfect.
  3. The hugs that come from parents, grateful that their baby is in a place of safety, comfort, and care when they are with us.

    Yes! Even though we are tired at week’s end, the interaction with parents listening, affirming, laughing, focusing on the words of their child is joyous. Thanks for capsulizing the experience so well in this post!
