Dance the Night

Dance the Night

As mentioned in yesterday’s slice, I attended a dance recital for a friend last night. We started with dinner at a local restaurant that specializes in small plates from around the world. We each chose our own four dishes as part of their Passport special but still tasted each other’s selections. We then went to a nearby middle school for the 2 hour dance showcase. Our friend performed in three numbers, including a the starting Barbie rendition that started the show and a very sassy Evolution of Beyoncé mix, but we enjoyed 17 total dance routines that ranged from street jazz to contemporary to hip hop. After taking the picture below, we all agreed to take a class together in the coming months! Hopefully I will have an update on that sooner rather than later 🙂

What a fun evening. This slice is a reminder that we need to move out of our usual lanes during the school year. It is so easy to get in a routine and follow the pattern, day after day. Can’t wait to hear about your class!

Sounds like a fun girls’ night out supporting your friend. It is great that she inspired the rest of you to take an upcoming class. Hope you all have fun trying something new together.

Welcome to the musing millennial! I hope you enjoy my early 2000s nostalgia, my unfounded weather predictions, and my thoughts on life as a 30 something old English teacher.

This March I am participating in the Slice of Life Challenge from Two Writing Teachers.
